5-Day Morocco Desert Trip from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, we will leave for Merzouga through the Middle Atlas Mountains. through the forest of cedar d’Azrou, an important craft center specializing in carpentry. We will arrive in Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, we will go to Erfoud passing through Errachidia and the Ziz valley with its palm trees. We continue to the Erg Chebbi dunes, where we will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel in front of the great dunes.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Night in tent

After breakfast, we ride camels, meet our 4×4 and drive to Khamlia village to discover Gnawa village and listen to Gnawa spiritual music. We continue our tour of the desert region and stop to have tea with nomads in Berber tents. Discovery of nomadic life, from there we will return to the hotel to prepare before starting our camel ride in the middle of the dunes. you admire the sunset in the dunes. dinner will be served around the campfire and you will spend the night in a bivouac.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Todra Gorges

After breakfast in the bivouac, we will return by camel to the hotel in the village of Merzouga to take a shower. We leave the Erg Chebbi dunes through the hamada (black desert) to reach the village of Rissani with a visit to the old big market. Then we will go to Erfoud, known for its fossils. Here we can stop to visit a marble workshop before continuing to the impressive Todra Canyons, known for rock climbing, where you can hike before checking into the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our journey along the road of the Thousand Kasbahs. We will cross the Dades Valley where there are huge kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of these kasbahs are old fortified houses that have been restored. We will pass the valley and we will go up in the mountainous region by a track between the valley of Dades and that of Las Rosas. We will visit a nomadic family that lives in caves. who take care of the herds of goats and sheep. We will be impressed by the landscapes of the valley of roses, we continue our trip to Ouarzazate, we stop at the palm grove of Skoura to visit the Kasbah of Amridle, then we continue to our hotel in Ouarzazate. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt before leaving for Ait Ben Haddou to visit the Unisco World Heritage site. We will continue our journey to Marrakech, passing through the Ounila Valley. Then we will visit the Telouat kasbah and cross the High Atlas mountain 2260m through the Tizi n tichka pass. We stop to visit an argan oil cooperative and continue to your hotel in the Medina of Marrakech.
